How SetBrewer Works

Learn how to use SetBrewer to build Commander (EDH) decks using the Magic: The Gathering sets you already own. This guide covers set tracking, alternate card suggestions, picklist generation, and more.

📦 Track Which MTG Sets You Own

Use the Set Tracker to check off which Magic: The Gathering sets you have cards from. No need to enter individual cards—just select the sets. Look for “Manage Sets” throughout the app or start from the homepage.

🧙 Build a Commander Deck from Your Sets

Browse commanders and click “Start Building” to begin with a blank deck or a filtered Average EDHRec deck. You can also paste a decklist into the Set Checker to compare it with your collection.

♻️ Alternate Card Matching

When you’re missing a card from a decklist, SetBrewer automatically shows similar cards or alternate printings from your sets. Look for the icon in the Set Checker next to any unmatched card.

📋 Save a Picklist to Build From

Create a printable picklist of cards to pull from your collection. Add entire decklists or individual cards. Substitutes appear in the sideboard and everything is saved locally—no account required.
